When you think of the word “headband” your thoughts may automatically go to something you throw on when you’re going to the gym or just lounging around the house.
Today, headbands are becoming something you not only use to keep hair out of your face, but a very versatile accessory that can be worn in so many different ways. Up or down, long or short, straight or curly.
Whether you want to go one more day without washing your hair, or just need to pull together a simple outfit, a headband can be a great choice. The options are endless. Here are a few simple styles you can try at home:
Short, Straight Hair
Blow-dry hair into desired style, wrap headband around, keeping it off of your hairline and pull out pieces wherever you see fit.
Medium, Wavy Hair
Style as desired, slip headband around head onto center of forehead; slightly pull hair at crown to create volume.
Long, Naturally Curly Hair
Style using your natural hair texture, slip headband onto top of head, leaving out fringe. Take sections of hair and slightly lift up the headband and flip hair over and through the band, continue this until you run out of hair to create a low bun. Secure any loose pieces into place using bobby pins and finish with hairspray. Fun fact: if you leave this style in overnight, it creates bouncy no heat curls too!
These are just a few examples of styles you can experiment with. Any headband can be used for all of these looks. Have some fun with these by wearing them with your hair curly, and then try it straight! Be creative! You may be surprised how many ways you can incorporate them into your wardrobe.
