We all see so many DIY body scrubs on Pintrest, so the Virtue girls decided to actually try it out.
We designated Tuesdays as “Tuesday night hangs” (to some of the girls it also means “Pretty Little Liars Night!). This Tuesday, we rounded up the supplies needed to attempt the sugar scrub.
Sugar is great for your skin. You can use sugar scrubs on your face, body or feet to make your skin silky. Especially during this cold Ohio weather, when skin becomes dry and itchy, the sugar scrubs moisturize and exfoliate. And the best part is, it's totally affordable to make at home.
To my surprise they were simple ingredients that we all have in our very own pantries.
All you need is:
Essential Oil (we used Orange)
Some people add variations like cinnamon, oatmeal, and salt, but we were definitely happy making a basic recipe, our Orange Sugar Scrub.
We started out by putting 10 drops of essential oil into a bowl, and then added 2 tablespoons of organic sugar.
We mixed those two together, then added 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
With the olive oil, you can decide how much you want to add, to make it thick or runny.
Teake tested out the final product, and she approved! Truthfully, we all used it right away, and we all approved! I have got to say I LOVE it!
This recipe takes about 10 minutes to make, and has a counter life up to two months.
With my hands being so dry from this cold winter, this scrub has saved them. I totally recommend trying this!
